One Room Challenge - Week 2 Master Bedroom - The Plan

So it's Week 2 of the One Room Challenge, and I have (mostly) finalized the plans for this room.

My client loves butterflies, so when we spotted this fabric, it was decided that the color scheme of the room would be blue and white!

We also found this beautiful John Robshaw fabric (which I plan to use for curtains) for only $5/yard! There was a flaw running through the middle of the entire roll, thus the very discounted price. A very helpful man at The Interior Alternative in Newark, DE patiently explained a technique to remove the flawed section. Here's hoping my sewing skills are up to the challenge!

I'm hoping to find some small chests on Craig's list or at a consignment store to DIY using these gorgeous ones from Gabby Home as inspiration.

In my previous post I said that the only item staying in the room would be the headboard. But I have since decided that instead of purchasing a new dresser, I am going to refinish the one they already have. We shall see how it turns out. I think with some new paint and hardware, this could actually be pretty.

My inspiration board for the room:

Here's all the work that has to be completed in the next few weeks:

1. Install shiplap accent wall

2. Paint walls, ceiling and trim

3. Install new flooring

4. Sew new curtains and pillow covers

5. DIY nightstands

6. Paint dresser

7. Purchase new chest, chair, wall sconces, mirror and bedding

8. Purchase and install new ceiling fan

I'll be back next week with updates hopefully of a shiplap accent wall and a completely painted room! Wish me luck!!
